Fashion from the field is admittedly quirky. The author has compiled her thoughts into this little book that is part memoir and part fashion advice for the everywoman.
When the author worked as style editor for a weekly newspaper in the Northwest region of Connecticut, she had access to top fashion designers and fashion industry experts. She savored every conversation with them that she was privileged to have, and she learned a lot.
But even before she was paid to write about style, a fashionable mother in rural Ohio taught her, straight out of the womb, the importance of presenting oneself to the world in a well-dressed way. The author’s mother is the lovely one in the vintage photograph who graces the cover of Fashion from the field.

I would definitely recommend it. Very insightful. It is important to present yourself to the world in a well-dressed way. Whether we like it or not, people judge books by their covers.
